Swarovski EL 8×32

Easy to love and easy to recommend, the Swarovski EL 8×32 is one of the nicest mid-sized binoculars out there. I don’t want to gush too much, but from the first time I held this binocular, I made up my mind to own one. It’s my all-time favorite. Why? Its amazing clarity, first and foremost. The crispness of the image is stunning, as is its ability to transport true color to your eyes. The magnesium alloy construction give its 21.5 ounces an excellent balance and feel in the hand. I’m especially fond of its open-hinge design and slim barrels which make it not just comfortable, but a real pleasure to hold. Having the center of the barrels free to clasp allows the index finger to naturally rest on the focus wheel; and there are thumb indents that reflect the thoughtful attention to detail that Swarovski is known for. Combine these assets with a generous 420 ft. field of view and 7 ft. close focus, well, what’s not to like?

If you’ve thought of upgrading, and I mean really upgrading, go Austrian. Treat yourself to this spectacular mid-sized binocular! Available in the classic Swarovski green or in the light brown Traveler (picured here), it includes a clever SnapShot adapter which enables you to attach a point-and-shoot camera to one of the lenses and snap away. Brilliant!
